Restore from unlocked back up phone

my dock connector recently went ka-put so i went to apple and they were able to give me a new phone. I backed up my old 2g but now I have this new 2g and need to unlock/jailbreak and restore the data from my old phone. How would I go about doing that?

I'm using this tutorial but I'm unsure as to when I should click restore from the back up file of my old
phone.

Unlock and jailbreak normally, then restore from the same back. You're good to go.
