If I restore my Mac HD will it erase all my files that are not backed up? Will it restore it to it's factory settings or will it just get rid of all partitions on the disk?

thanks

SO everything will be gone? There is no way to just erase a partition? Non bootcamp related

Yes, everything will be gone. You will have to use your computer's restore disks to do this, since it doesn't make much sense for a partition to erase itself.

how do I use a restore disk? I was trying to install bootcamp and I backed up my files in time machine, but I didn't leave enough room and it stopped I'm trying to delete the partition it made on my HD I already asked this question but none of the stuff worked

stick what in the drive

the partition is on my my HD

or are you talking about the MAC OS X install disk

I did that but then what do I do, I went to disk utility that didn't help, I went into the install Mac os X and I''m not sure if I want to do that?>

I would like to restore my Hard Disk to one single partition without losing all my files, I have nothing on the Partition I want to delete

Ah, okay. Open Disk Utility, select your drive, go to the Partition tab, click on the partition you want to delete, and click the minus button below the list. You should then be able to resize your main partition to fill the drive.

ther is no minus below it?

Just to make sure I'm in the right place, the partiton is on the left side when I open disk utitity

Look again.
