restore iPad 2 from an iPad 1 backup?

I just recently got the iPad 2 but had the original iPad before this. It shows up in iTunes under Preferences -> "gmPad 3/15/11 3:28pm." However, after pluggin in my new iPad 2 it gives me options to "Restore from the backup of:" but none of the options included gmPad. Can you not restore from the original iPad?

yep, there's generally a new version of iTunes released to support each new iteration of hardware. Always check to ensure you have the latest iTunes before attempting to sync a brand new iDevice.
