RESTORE iPhone OS 3.0 to an unlocked iPhone 2G

Hi guys!

I've figured out how to upgrade from my unlocked 2.2.1 to 3.0 GM, but some problems are arising: no youtube, etc, .... you know, the usual with the last betas.

Can I just restore (no update, but restore) to 3.0 without losing the unlock? I am afraid it will remain unlocked, but I'll still nedd to activate, right?

Sorry if it's a dupe, I've searched through the forums for a couple hours, and couldn't find any answer.

You will be locked out. There is no unlock yet for 3.0 so I would hold off upgrading if you aren't on ATT.

With a restore you will lose the activation, not the unlock. It will still be unlocked but it won't be activated so it won't let you past the emergency call screen. You'll be able to make calls out and as far as I know, calls will still come in. I'd say just deal with the problems (no youtube, etc) until next Wednesday when an official pwn'ing tool comes out.
