Restore iPhone with iOS 14 from iOS 13 backup

I've not upgraded my iPhone X to iOS 14 yet. When I get my new iPhone 12 Pro with iOS 14, will it be a problem to restore my settings/backup from iCloud given the difference in the iOS versions?

Yes. You will need to update your X or set up as new.
