Hi Gurus,

I have a mac book and recently upgraded to lion. Want to give it to my niece, how can I restore it and re-install lion. I never got any CD's from apple when I purchased my mac book.

TIA for your help.

Hold option as the machine is rebooting.

That should give you a list of partitions to boot from.
Select the recovery hd.

I believe that will walk you through a re-install of OSX.

You can press option but the easiest thing is to press Command-R as you start up. Erase your hard-drive and then erase it. Then when it asks you to set it up just turn it off and leave it for your niece. Hope she enjoys her Mac! :)
