My wife wanted to give her old original ipad to her mum. I did a full reset on it, setup an icloud acct for her mum, etc. However, the app store seems to no longer allow downloading previous versions of apps like it was late last year.

All of the apps are on my mac pro under my wife's acct. Is there a way to restore them to what is now her mum's iPad? They are all free, like Kindle, so that shouldn't be a problem.

When I've tried connecting the iPad to my mac pro I get an option to set it up as a new iPad or restore it completely as my wife's old one. Wonder if I allow it to set it up as new if I can then copy the needed apps over between the two iTunes directory structures and then have it restore?

Thanks,

I can't speak for Europe but the US store still allows you to download an older App for 5.1.1

I just did that a few weeks ago. Try doing a Sync and it should copy all of your apps and bookmarks but it needs to be under the same ID.
