Hey,

A year ago my sister and some of her friends got MacBooks for their graduation. Recently though, the MacBook has been going slow and I can't find the restore discs. I think I might have left them at my aunt's house in Brazil (I'll be there again in a week). Is it possible to restore my MacBook using the discs from one of her friends? The only difference though is that I got the more expensive MacBook (with two gigs of ram), while they got the lower-end one at the time.

Would it work, or am I out of luck?

Daniel :)

It might. If they are the same model (bought around the same time)

Yeah, they were bought within a week of each other, but mine is the faster Macbook (I'm not sure if the processor speeds are the same). Also, is there anything in the disc that is specific to the exact laptop it came with?

They would've shipped with the same included software, and only drivers might have been different (but for MacBooks they wouldn't be). Just pop it in and try, it'll tell you if it won't work.

Alright, thanks guys. I wish I could find mine though :/

I can find the recovery CDs for my ten year old HP pc, but not my one year old MacBook
