Let's say I wipe my pc clean to do a fresh install. Lose my iTunes. Of course, everything is still on the phone. When I go to sync next time, how do I ensure the sync goes from phone to iTunes, and I do not lose my phone settings, apps, and more? I did this once before but, duh, I forgot. It was a little obscure. Thanks and sorry for being dense.

After that happens and you reinstall iTunes connect the iPhone to your computer. Right click on "iPhone" and click back up. The only thing you'll lose will be your music and photos. Your apps and settings will be back up into iTunes.

Otherwise your computer is going to recognize your iPhone as a new device and delete everything then sync whatever is currently on the computer to the iPhone.
