I am installing a new ssd in my buddys 13" macbook pro tonight which is currently running 10.6.8. I backed up using time machine. I was going to install ML on the new SSD. I would like to be able to restore from time machine after the clean install is done. Can I use the Snow Leopard time machine to get the files onto the new SSD running Mountain Lion? Thanks for the help guys!

Don't think so, if you make a backup in 10.6 and try to restore it on ML it will reverse everything AFAIK.
