I posted the issue below of my Mac acting up. When I took it to the Genius bar they did hardware tests and felt the problem was software related. They wiped and reinstalled the os. Their suggestion was to use the Mac clean first to see if there are issues and then restore from time machine and see if the error pops up again. Assuming the issue is a buggy piece of software. Csn I just restore selected files from time machine (ie documents and downloads) since if it's its buggy software I'd rather just reinstall the software I need from scratch one at a time to see what is causing the problem.
I know you can do this on an ongoing backup. But I wasn't sure how this works after wiping the hard drive.
