Is there anyway I can restore JUST my SMS.db file without jailbreaking? I have a jailbroken 3G 2.0 - but I suspect the jailbreak is killing my battery so I wanna restore to a non-jb FW 2.0 - and set it up as a new phone. But this will wipe my SMS.db. So I basically need to get my SMS.db back onto the phone without restoring from a jailbroken backup - if that makes sense.
I have an idea but wouldnt know how to implement it.
If I restore the phone to a non-jb handset, and then run a backup of the phone - it will copy the sms.db to the computer. I could then find the sms.db on the computer - replace it with the sms.db that I grabbed with all my convo's before I restored, and then do another restore and then set it up from a backup - which will be a fresh 2.0 install with default settings and a full sms.db.
So - where do I find sms.db on the backups on the computer?
For my future reference : 0b1fe6f87c054ebb6d00cfafb6bacd343a7f6fa1.mdbackup is the filename for SMS backups in iTunes
