I recently noticed that my iphones volume has been degrading. I compared it to friends phones and it was about half as loud.
Well turns out my phone is out of warranty by about 15 days(launch day 3g) so I decided to fix it my self.
All I did was follow the tutorials on ifixit.com. I took out the speaker/ mic assembly and noticed the speaker was blocked by dirt. Took the screen out, cleaned with alcohol....and now the phone is back to original volume
Just a heads up.....clean those speaker grills
