I was wondering is this possible? Im currently on 4.0.1 and i wanted to restore my phone before jailbreaking it without being forced to update to 4.0.2?
Any ideas??

Mac Users,
Hold down Option and press the “Restore” button

Windows Users,
Hold down Shift and press the Restore button

Find your 4.0.1 firmware file on your computer and open it. That is it.

I did this last night myself.

this method still works, ive seen some pretty complicated methods flying around for restoring 4.0.1 ?

one of thejailbreak devs have confirmed apple are still signing 4.0.1 but wont be for much longer.... download tinyumbrella and have that save your shsh blob whilst you can so that you don't have to worry about apple not signing 4.0.1
