Restore to 5.0.1 using backup?

I am on iOS 5.1 on a iPhone 4s, I have a backup that I made while using iOS 5.0.1. I was wondering if I restore to that back up if it would also restore the iOS. Thanks

You can restore the backup, but you'll still be on iOS 5.1. At this time, you cannot restore an iPhone 4S to anything but iOS 5.1.

There is currently no way to get back to iOS 5.0.1 on any A5 device. ih8sn0w has apparently found a method but it won't be released any time soon. Your just gonna have to wait until a new jailbreak is released by one of the dev teams for 5.1.
