So I upgraded iOS to the newest one today to take my phone in to the Apple store because the lock button was broken. They gave me a new phone on 4.3.3 which seemed perfect because jailbreakme.com works. Cydia says SHSH: iOS 4.3.4, 4.3.5.

Here's the issue: I want to restore to my old iPhone's data (texts, apps, music, etc etc) but I don't want to upgrade to 4.3.5, losing the untethered jailbreak again. Is there a certain way I need to do this? I'm afraid to plug my phone in incase I do it wrong haha!

If a backup is of a higher OS (4.3.5) and your device is on something lower (ex: 4.3.3), then No you can not restore your device from a back-up.

Phew. Go figure, it backed up before it updated the iOS, so when I restored to the backup, it was still 4.3.3 :) Thanks for your note though.
