Unfortunately, I had to restore my phone on Sunday after a recent issue, and my last iTunes backup was September 15th—could be worse, I know. But I noticed that my WhatsApp backup was from September 18th, so I figured why not try to get that one downloaded instead (super-annoying that my other restored messaging apps are just automatically up to date instead of dealing with this). I noticed last night that it wasn't downloading, and even this morning nothing had changed, and I thought there was a chance it was related to the FB/IG/WA outage yesterday so I deleted to try restoring again. Still won't download.

I've also been a little worried because I had tried downloading my backup out of curiosity on the old phone I used until I could get to the Apple Store, but it seemed like a WhatsApp version that old wouldn't open. Now back on my regular phone, WhatsApp says that the backup is from Sunday night, which...I desperately hope does not mean anything got overwritten?

Either way, what I'm seeing is the total backup size is 200MB, but "downloading" only 4.7MB, and at 0% of that. I've tried toggling iCloud drive (but it warned me this would delete my info so I un-toggled), and toggling WhatsApp in the iCloud settings but nothing happened.

Is there any other option other than giving up on this iCloud backup and restoring from the iTunes backup again? I'm at home with good connection and since I had to wipe the phone, storage space is plentiful, so it can't be those issues. I assume there's no way to just restore a single app's data through iTunes? It's only been about 16 hours since I was able to restore the phone, so not too much has changed, whatever I lost since September 15th is still lost.

Suggestions, please? Thanks.

EDIT: I realize now why there are 2 different numbers, 4.7MB is the messages without the media files (which almost doesn't seem like enough!) and...still at 0% downloaded.
