So I decided to jailbreak my phone which turned out to be a bad idea.
I restored my phone and I thought all was well until I saw the homescreen.
For some odd reason all my current settings were there but I had no apps.
Here's a screenshot:

Everything else has seemed to have been restored except my apps.
Is there anyway I can recover appdata or am I just screwed and I'll have to re-sync all my apps and start fresh?

Same thing happen to me, Same situation too. I'm interested to know also.

well that happened to me with my ipod touch 4 times. i would jailbreak it then update it and everything is deleted. i think anytime you jailbreak and restore/update your ipod/iphone it deletes everything.

If you right click on the tab where it says "[insert iphone name here]" and click on "restore from backup" this pop ups:

it doesn't say anything about restoring app and appdata :(
