iPhone Restored iPhone Backup - Lost iMessages?

I had to restore my phone from an iTunes backup today and lost some iMessages and some SMS that were sent and received between the backup and restore. Since I don't have that stuff backed up to iCloud, is there *any* way to retrieve the lost data?

Of course I am sorry you lost some of your messages during the restore from your backup.
This happened to a friend of mine and he called Apple tech and they got everything back for him except the SMS you mention in between, You might want to try that.
