Restored Time Machine from iMac to MBP - No Sound

Yeah so I have a loan MBP while my iMac is being looked at

Restored the Time Machine but now the volume icon is greyed out

Have you checked your sound settings? You can do a quick check by holding down Option when you click on the volume icon, or you can just go into System Preferences and check from there.
