iCloud Restored to thousands of old emails unread

I logged out of iCloud on my phone to try to get my mixing AirTags to show up after the disappeared with a phone upgrade. Now I have thousands of unread emails which I’m thinking were previously Archived messages

I was able to get rid of some by Select then All. Now if I hit Select there’s no “All” and I can’t select thousands of messages

I’ve had this before, probably Helen’s with each be phone. Anyone know the easiest fix? I n do use iCloud and Gmail but these unread emails are all on iCloud

Ok. I turned off iCloud mail in settings, turned it back on, and the messages were then read again but a few minutes later not read again😞
