can anyone help please? ive just got a jailbroken iphone 3gs off a friend but when i go into itunes to restore and update it it starts downloading and then stops with a message saying, there was a problem downloading the software network connection as timed out and wont restore, help pleases!!

Try restarting your computer...I've had the same problem before and that usually helped me.
