I have 2 internal drives installed in my late 2009 17" MBP (SSD for the OS, HDD for data). For some reason, it just stopped working the other day, but that's nor really the issue at hand.

To fix the previous problem, I wiped my HDD, thinking I could just restore it from my Time Machine back up, but when I try to just drag and drop my home folder, it asks for my user/password, but then it still says I don't have permissions on a lot of files (a different one each time) and cancels the transfer.

When I try to do a restore via Time Machine, it defaults to the SSD and I can't figure out how to get it to let me restore the backup of the HDD, even though I can navigate to the backup in Finder.

Is this even a possibility? Did I mess something up, and have to start fresh?
