I am having a problem restoring my jailbroken iphone 4 (iOS 4.2.1). Itunes keeps showing error 3194 whenever I am trying to restore it. Do I need to enter DFU mode before restoring?

The phone was tethered jailbroken via redsn0w.

Can anyone help me with this?

Besides, how to check if openSSH is installed in my phone? I am kind of worry that my phone being attacked by virus. Is my phone safe without openSSH installed?

You can definitely try to DFU mode it before you restore.

And your phone is safe without openSSH so long as you didn't go around installing crazy Cydia tweaks...

i just wanted to get free apps and now I feel bad and I gonna restore it.
Can a person tell my iphone was once jailbroken after I restore?

Would you mind sharing some step-by-step instruction restoring the phone? I am a new user.

Thanks!

Put the phone into DFU mode (google for instructions), and then, restore through itunes. Afterward, they won't know you previously JB the phone.
