Okay, I know that there's this thread, which somewhat covers the issue about restoring an iPhone as new:

https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/72236/

Supposedly, this will ensure better battery life. I know this is the case for a 3GS, but I was interested in just how much better.

Due to the pain of doing this, does it increase battery life enough to warrant the aggravation?

Also, I know I'll lose my game saves. That's not too important, at least not to me. For apps, music, and pictures, I can just resync after the restore. For contacts, I can use Address Book and sync from there (since I synced to Address Book before). You can also use Outlook.

However, how can I get my notes back? I believe I saw a thread sometime back about syncing to Outlook. Is that the best way to get notes on from a PC?

What else am I missing that I need to be sure of syncing?

Are there any other aggravations that make this a bad idea?

Thanks.

And if this is better covered somewhere else, I couldn't find it or it was so full of conflicting answers that my head was spinning. Maybe this thread can fill in all the gaps. I was planning to edit this OP with anything so that it might serve as a guide, if that turns out to be a good idea. See the thread that I linked to see what I mean about the confusion, since many posters didn't seem to understand what to do. Most of this confusion seemed to be on some of the issues I bring up above.
