I installed Yosemite to a second partition and everything is working perfectly. I wasn't sure if I'm able to load my mavericks backup now into Yosemite. I tried but nothing happens when I click restore after selecting the file from an external drive. Any ideas if this is possible? I would like to migrate all my stuff over and make two identical copies of my computer on the drive, one main one mavericks and the other as Yosemite.

I think your best option is to wipe the second partition, clone your Mavericks partition to it, then upgrade to Yosemite right over the existing Mavericks.

I doubt if you can do a clean install, then migrate everything over but the OS. But if I'm wrong, I'm sure someone will let us know.:D
