Hey guys,

I've got a SSD and HDD in my Macbook. I'm currently running the El Cap beta and I want to install El Cap official on a clean drive. My HDD free space is big enough to fit the whole content of my SSD, which contains El cap.

A simple and safe idea was to format the SSD and install El Cap clean, while restoring a TimeMachine backup of the SSD on a separate partition on the HDD.

Old scheme
- SSD: El Cap Beta
- HDD: Other files

New scheme
- SSD: El Cap official
- HDD1: El Cap Beta (TimeMachineBackup)
- HDD2: Other files

To achieve this I need to know: Is it possible to restore the contents of the TimeMachine SSD backup to a different drive/partition?

Thanks.
