Restoring apps no longer in the iTunes app market?

I'll probably be getting a new iPad soon and trading in my old one. Some of the apps I have on my current iPad are no longer in the iTunes app market, but I do have them backed up on my PC's hard drive.

What is the process for getting these apps onto my new iPad once I get it?

You just drag them in through iTunes. You can also use something like DiskAid ( http://www.digidna.net/diskaid ).
