I'm planning an iPhone soon. I have an ipod with a lot of high ranked apps and information I kept on it. Is it possible to Restore the data from my iPod to my iPhone?

I have heard of people who managed to restore an iPhone from an iPod Touch backup without any side effects.
Bottom line is - give it a shot and if it doesn't work out, you can always restore your iPhone back to factory settings.
The other way round, would not seem to work though
