The hard drive in my macbook recently crashed. I have gotten a new hard drive and it is now up and running with Snow Leopard. I have a backup disc, but at the time of last backup the machine was running Lion. Migration assistant will not allow me to restore the files because the OS on the backup is newer than the OS on the main computer. I don't have a way to install Lion on the new hard drive, so is there anyway to get around this so I can retrieve my data? Thanks :)

Are you only selecting Users on this screen? Or are you also trying to import apps and settings?
