restoring files to a new HD with Lion

Hello

I have purchased a new internal hard drive for my macbook and now I want to transfer my files to the new hard drive. I have an external hard drive to hold the files.

What is the easiest way to restore my data? I knew it in Snow Leopard (with the DVD) but now I am kinda confused.

Please help me with the steps:
1- backup with Time Machine
2- swap the hard drive
3- ?
4- ?
5...
