iPhone Restoring from a jailbroken iPhone backup

I have backed up my iPhone with iTunes and iCloud before jailbreaking and I still plan to backup all my data after jailbreaking.

If I were to restore as new for whatever reason, could I restore from my jailbroken backups from either iTunes or iCloud? Would it still be safe to use?

I don't want any traces of being jailbroken, but not lose the data I get.

You can restore from your jailbroken backup. However, there would be residual traces of the jailbreak in the itunes/icloud backup. It would still be safe to use though.
