Restoring from Backup: 6s - Stuck on step 6 waiting for items copy

It's been on "Syncing Tones - Waiting for items to copy" for about 10-15 minutes.


What should I do?

Windows 10, latest iTunes. iPhone backup was 9.0.1 and new phone is on 9.0.

Help.

It looks like the restore is all messed up, apps are blacked out.


Can anyone give me advice?

Happened to me too. I think its something to do with App Thinning.

In my case I noticed some of the newer apps on my phone weren't even in my iTunes Library and 'Transferring Purchases' from my old iPhone wasn't working. I also noticed that the apps stored in iTunes almost all needed updating. Why weren't they being synced back from my old iPhone? App Thinning.

So here's what I did: Go into iTunes, and into the Apps view. Update all of the apps you have in iTunes, then sync your phone. You should find that those stuck in 'Waiting' will update.

I cannot guarantee it will work, but it worked for me when all-else failed.

I've set my iTunes to download apps automatically. I'm not sure that setting downloads updates automatically but I guess I'll find out next year!!
