I've been an iPhone user (and Mac user) since the iPhone 3 came out. I love them both!

Lately, when I need to do a restore of my iphone, I'll do a back up first, then restore from a backup.

Problem: When it goes to put all of my recent backup data back on the phone, it leaves out apps, etc. which I have to go into the app store and manually add them back it.

Why isn't the backup/restore placing them back on the phone?

I have iTunes setup so it does an icloud backup, not a back up to mac.

Thoughts?

If you are just syncing to iTunes with iCloud backup turned on you do not have the most recent backup in iTunes. To do this you need to right click on the iPhone in iTunes and select Backup. Then you will have a current iTunes backup to restore from.

Thanks! When I backup, I always right click on iPhone in the left and select backup.

Not sure why this is occurring.
