My 2009 Macbook, running Lion recently started acting up. (Running extremely slow, overheating, etc.) I was unable to get it to back up to my LaCie Porsche drive, so I don't have a backed up copy. It kept giving me an error message.

I was able to pull the HD out and copy it onto my LaCie drive manually. My question:

Once the macbook comes back from Apple, I'm sure the HD will be wiped clean, possibly replaced. How can I restore from that copy i have on the Lacie, since it did not copy using the time machine backup feature?

Thanks in advance!
