I want to upgrade to 5.0.1 and then immediately restore from my last backup, which is jailbroken. Will this be bad or will the non-jailbroken data still exist. I don't care about having the jailbroken things, just my music and apps so i don't have to go back and redo all of it. Also, I am not 100% sure as to what restoring from backup means, so any help is great. I could not find this anywhere else, so if it is there I'm sorry.

What I would suggest (if you want to un-jailbreak your phone and keep your backup data) is to first restore the phone, update to 5.0.1, then restore again (from your backup this time) and your iPhone should stay the same (except for the jailbreak.... apps/winterboard/e.t.c.

will this be the same with an iPod touch, and is this true because I don't want my iPod to be screwed up
