I know that no one has a 4 yet, so it may be a bit different with the new iOS, but generally, how seamless is restoring an iPhone backup on to a new device?

My 3G **** the bed last week (I dropped it for the 100th time), but I had backed it up to iTunes just before it happened.

I use moblieme, so I know cal, contacts and mail won't be an issue. I am more concerned with notepad and apps. Does anyone have any advice?

Since you had your old iPhone backed up, it will be a seamless process for you. When you connect your new iPhone to iTunes and select to restore the existing profile on it, you'll be good to go.
