I had a MacBook Pro which I had backed up with Time Machine. The MBP had the older version of iLife. I just bought an iMac and restored it with my TM backup. Then I installed the applications DVD that came with the iMac. It said the installation was successful, but it erased my iPhoto library.

How do I get my library and data to transfer to the new iLife suite. I hope this makes sense.

Thanks -- J

Why is it deleting my library when I install the new applications disc?

No idea. It should be an upgrade and thus should not affect your data. It shipped with '11 though so maybe it's not an upgrade version and thus deletes your library.

The release build of the iPhoto from iLife '11 had the problem that some people's libraries got deleted. Looks like you have that issue. Best way is to restore your library and then update iPhoto to the latest update before you open it up.
