Restoring iPhone 2G 2.2 SMS

Hello,

I have deleted most of my SMS by mistake. Fortunately, I have synced my iPhone with my Macbook Pro yesterday, which I guess generates an automated backup. However, I'm afraid that if I connect my iPhone back again is synced again and replace the previous version of my backup. I'm asking for a method which can help me restoring my SMS back.

I would check into getting a third party app for the future to handle this. I don't know how to restore them once they have been deleted. Phoneview for mac is a really good one to backup SMS. Good luck.
