Hey all,

The backup I have of my phone I feel has traces of being jailbroken in it, and would like to start completely fresh. Can I restore the phone, elect to not restore it from backup, and then sync the phone to put all my apps back on it? I use mobile me, so all my contacts etc will be fine. Will this work?

Yup, it will work.

I just did this a little while ago.

Maybe others will confirm as well.

Yeah. It felt "fresher." It seemed as if the quirks were gone. I had slowness issues and some unresponsiveness issues that went away.

Yes, this will for sure work. You will be missing some of your settings, but only minor things. I would still make a backup before restoring just in case you lose something you didn't want to. If you want to know how to make a manual backup, Apple had detailed how to do so in a KB article.

One last question. Do you select Setup as New iPhone when you're trying to do this?

Thanks!
