iPod touch restoring ipod backup

I had a 2g 16g ipod touch that died a little while ago and I am recieving a 3g 32 gig ipod today. Is it possible to restore the backup from my 2g onto my new 3g?

I think so. If you connect the new iPod to your computer, it will give you the option of either setting it up as a new device, or restoring from a previous device.
