Hi all,

I stupidly deleted everything in my applemail inbox today. I use an online backup system at BackBlaze so I'm just trying to restore it. I downloaded my mail folder from Library/Mail/ and then tried to just dump it in the same place on my HD. That didn't work. When I relaunched mail the inbox was still empty.

Any help?

Thanks

Duff-Man says...when you replace the folders as you did you may need to "rebuild" each mailbox to see the contents again. Just click on one of your folders (inbox, sent, whatever) and choose "rebuild" from the Mailbox menu. You'll probably need to do it for each folder you have....oh yeah!

Hi Duff-man,

I tried rebuilding earlier and it didn't work for me. They were still empty. I finally figured it out though. I had to do import mailboxes > then choose > apple mail > then go two folders back from the mbox files in order to have them show up as mailboxes on the import. I also had to rename any that had names like inbox.imapmbox to inbox.mbox.

Finally they are back.!
