Restoring Mavericks Data to Clean Install Yosemite...

I have a time machine backup of my current Mavericks...Before I attempt to wipe and install Yosemite onto my cMBP...can I use this time machine back up to restore my programs, files, and data to Yosemite?

I think migration assistant can use 10.9 backup.
