Problem: I have photos that a person sent me thru iMessage about a year ago. Somehow they were deleted from my iPhoto library but that is another matter. I figured I could just go to the text message exchange and re-download the pics. As of the last 2 months, they are no longer there.

I back up everything on a TC. So naturally I figured I could possibly restore a backup of the messages app from a much earlier date when I know the pics are still there, but that isnt possible. I need to do a FULL restore from Time Machine and that means I'd lose any new pics I got and any new music etc.

I pulled the messages backup file from Time Machine. But I have no clue how to open it up.

Any ideas?
