So I'd like to do a clean-install of IOS8 over IOS7 on my 5S, but would like to restore specific items like texts and some gave-saves. (yes, I know it's not a technically "clean" install at that point, but you get what I mean)

In the past, this process has involved backing up locally via itunes, then extracting certain files with another app (like ibackupbot), doing the clean install, backing up that clean install, then injecting the extracted files, then restoring with that altered backup. (geez, just writing all of that out makes me question whether I want to bother)

Has anyone tried this process yet with IOS8?
