I was just reading up on the same page as you. Also keen to know this.

Been having frequent crashes when browsing in Safari, so looking to do a clean restore (from 1.0.2 >1.0.2). Obviously I still want a sim free phone.

If your phone is unlocked you can only redstore back to 1.0.2 I restored my unlocked phone about 4 times using this method so you have nothing to worry about.

Does a restore remove the unlock or does it just de-activate the phone so that you have to activate it again? I thought the iunlock solution at modmyiphone.com is restore-resistant or have I misunderstood?

So has anyone tried restoring?

Does it re-lock the phone? I'm desperate to restore, none of my 3rd party apps work now after removing iFuntastic but I don't want to mess it up further.

For anyone who is interested, I have restored to 1.0.2, without re-locking my phone. I followed the first steps on modmyiphone to restore to 1.0.2 with iTunes, after that all I had to do was activate again with INdependence, it was as easy as that!

Hope this helps someone.
