I have a 64GB 3G on route. I own a 1G 16gb Touch, what's the proceedure when I get the device, should I just set it up as normal, then let it do any FW updates and then restore? or should I restore first, How do you go about restoring, and will any paid for FW Update transfer over?

The 64GB 3rd Gen iPod touch comes with the 3.1 firmware preinstalled. Simply back up your 1G iPod, make sure everything you need is in your iTunes library and you have a backup for your 1G iPod. Plug in your new 3rd Gen iPod as normal and Restore from Backup, choose your ipod 1G's backup file. Simples. :)

However might I suggest Setting up as a new iPod, Apple change firmware settings between each new hardware device and you may see increased performance and better battery life from setting up as a new device rather than restoring from a backup. :)
