My hard drive died, so I had a new one installed. I booted my laptop from the Leopard install CD. I have my external hard drive that did my Time Machine backup attached. I go through the process and it starts restoring, but stops after 10% then 50 percent. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!!!MacBook, Mac OS X (10.5.6), 2009 MacBook

Since you already installed the OS, you don't really need to restore. I would create a new temp user account and delete any other accounts in the machine then from the temp account run Migration Assistant and use that to import your old user account and data/apps from the TM backup.

Then when that is done you can login to your real account and delete the temp one.
