Restoring/transferring app data only

Is it possible to restore/transfer only app data from a old iPhone to a new iPhone?

I want to set my new phone as a new device and don’t want to restore from a back up as my old phone has 4 years worth of data that’s probably filled with rubbish in the cache and temp files (20gb of other data) that I don’t want to transfer over.

I’m happy to use third party mac apps to do this.
