Restoring unlocked and jailbroken iPhone 4/3GS

I've read the thread on restoring a jailbroken iPhone. I'm asking about a phone that is both jailbroken and unlocked. I want to use my 3GS or 4 in Europe, and when I get back to the US I want to restore my iPhone 3GS or 4 with no problems or warranty issues with AT&T or Apple.

If that's possible, how do I do it? In iTunes, with the same procedure in the restoring a jailbroken phone, or what?
